CETHIL's teacher-researchers carry out their teaching in the context of several Lyon institutions. At INSA, CETHIL is linked to the FIMI Department (Preparatory level, which lasts two years after entrance at INSA) and three departments of second cycle, namely the departments

• Energy Engineering and Environment (GEn)
• Civil Engineering and Urbanism (GCU)
• Mechanical Engineering (GM).

The attachment to the University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (UCBL) is reflected in the involvement in the University Institute of Technology (IUT) and its departments

• Civil Engineering - Sustainable Construction
• Thermal Engineering and Energy

and in the Department of Mechanics of the Faculty of Science and Technology ( FST ).

Other CETHIL researchers can also teach in higher-education institutions of the Community of Establishments (COMUE) Lyon Saint-Etienne.
