The doctoral thesis is a unique training experience through research. The PhD is a reference diploma, recognized worldwide, which allows to make a real international career.
Preparing a doctoral thesis in a research laboratory associated with the CNRS is a guarantee of internationally recognized quality, which opens up career opportunities in the academic field - researcher in various organizations including CNRS, IRSTEA, etc. - but also in the industrial sector.
It is possible to register for a thesis after obtaining a Master's degree or equivalent. The thesis takes place in the laboratory, and possibly partly in the premises of an industrial partner. The thesis work is supervised by a thesis director, authorized to direct research.
Nearly forty doctoral theses are supervised by CETHIL researchers. Subject proposals can be found on the Recruitment page ("The Center" tab).
