May 2012: George Grover medal for Frédéric Lefèvre
The International Heat Pipe Conference (IHPC) is an international conference that is held every two to three years and is a forum for exchange of information and experiences for industrials and academics working on heat pipes. At each edition, the Scientific Committee awards the "George Grover Medal". This award recognizes researchers under the age of 40 in the field of heat pipes to highlight a "remarkable contribution to the scientific and technical development of heat pipes". Frédéric Lefèvre, Professor at CETHIL, was awarded the "George Grover Medal" during the 16th IHPC, which took place from May 20th to 24th, 2012, in Lyon. He is rewarded in particular for his numerous works aiming at the description and the modeling of curved liquid-vapor interfaces (menisks) forming and deforming during the evaporation in capillary media, from visualisations by confocal microscopy.
